Atharabhuja
There are eight Ganesh points namely Ashtavinayaka in Maharashtra.In the same way there are eight points in the vidarbha.The Ashtavinayaka of vidarbha includes Tekadi Ganesh Nagpur,Chintamani Kalamb, Bhadravati, Kelzar, Paoni, Bhandara, Adasa and Ramtek.
Atharabhuja Ganesh temple Ramtek is at the fort of famous Ramtek Gadmandir. Though not very big,it has long history since 16th century.The temple is a matter of faith for the people of Ramtek and surrounding. In this temple you will find three archaic idols of lord Ganesh.In the very center rests MahaGanpati ,to the east of which is Ridhhi-Sidhhi Ganesh and to the West side we have the glorious idol made of white crystals.This idol has 18 hands having variety of weapons,hence it is Atharabhuja .All and one consider it has savior of the troubled source and destroyer of evil powers.
It is consider that the place is the ultimate destination for all those who are world forsaken. The devotes are sure to get their wishes fulfilled. Adjoining it there is Bholeshwar in the form of sacred linga.Recently a beautiful Mahalaxmi idol has been installed in the temple. An attractive idol of standing mouse in front of lord Ganesh.
In Atharabhuja temple variety of celebrations takes place.On Chaturtis a specially Tili Chaturthis during Sankranti, Navratri, Dip Pujan, Hanuman Jayanti etc days are celebrated with enthusiasm.Number of visitor increasing year by year.On all the festivals ‘Open Mahaprasad’ is arranged for all.The sweet water well by the temple provides adequate drinking water.Its remarkable that most of the temples of the town have their own water resource as in the case of Atharabhuja.
